Miniaceoliva sericea
Distribution: Western Indo-Pacific realm. Central Indo-Pacific realm. Tropical Southwestern Pacific province (New Caledonia). Sunda Shelf province. Java Transitional province (S Sumatra, Indonesia). Western Coral Triangle province (Philippines). Eastern Coral Triangle province (Solomon Islands). From the Maldive Islands and Sri Lanka eastwards to Southeast Asia, Indonesia and Samoa (Sterba, 2004).
One of the largest and heaviest Olividae known, with shells reaching a maximum length of over 10 cm. It is considered to be a valid species by all contemporary authors but is often listed as Oliva textilina Lamarck, 1811 (a junior synonym) in older literature.
