SUMMARY
A genus of medium-sized to large species from the Western Indo-Pacific realm, the Central Indo-Pacific realm and the Eastern Indo-Pacific realm. All species are comparatively shallow water dwellers, found from the intertidal zone to depths slightly over 100 m.
Type species is Porphyria miniacea Röding, 1798 (see below).
