A species from the Temperate South America realm (Warm Temperate Southwestern Atlantic province): found from Sumbauma (12°15’S; 37°47’W), Bahia state, Brazil to Puerto Lobos (42°00’S; 65°04’W), San Matías Gulf, Chubut province, Argentina in 0–53 m depth (Teso & Pastorino, 2011: 8).
Also Pleistocene/Holocene. Uruguay. Querandino Formation. Middle Pleistocene. Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil.
RV 7306. Brazil, Sao Paulo, Pereque, trawled offshore, depth 3-4.5 m, sand bottom. Scaler bar is 1 cm.
This is the type species of Olivancillaria Orbigny, 1841.
