SUMMARY
Distribution: Central Indo-Pacific realm. Tropical Southwestern Pacific province (Fiji, New Caledonia) Northwest Australian Shelf province (Northwestern Australia).
In New Caledonia the species occurs from the intertidal zone to very moderate depths (< 5 m) and is at least partly tyntopic with Oliva faba Marrat, 1867.
RV 2754. New Caledonia, North Province, Pouebo municipality, Plage de Balade. Scale bar is 1 cm.
Hunon, Hoarau & Robin (2009: 154-155) identified this species as Oliva athenia Duclos, 1840, neglecting the lectotype selection of that taxon by Tursch & Greifeneder (2001).
