"Shell consistently smaller than nominate subspecies, stocky, with rounder sides; spire elevated; shell color pale yellow orange overlaid with dense network of tiny, orange-tan triangles; body whorl encircled with 2 wide bands of brown dots and zig-zag flammules; spire enamel pale orange-tan; protoconch yellow; interior of aperture cream-yellow; edge of suture marked with numerous fine, brown axial hairlines; columella plications white.".

This was a junior synonym of Oliva circinata Marrat, 1871, for Sterba (2004).
