A Japanese species recognised from Bôsô Peininsula to Kyushu, Japan (Okutani, 2001), Temperate Northern Pacific realm. Warm Temperate Northwest Pacific province.

Callomon & Petit (2004: 33) commented on the validity of descriptions of the taxon previous to that in "The sea shells of Sagami Bay" (Kuroda, Habe & Oyama, 1971).
