"Shell ovate, rather thin, gibbous and slightly inflated in the middle, spire short, acuminated, callous, sharp at the apex, columella much arched, plaits peculiarly strongly twisted; blue-grey, encircled round the base with a narrow chestnut zone, columella white, interior of the aperture very dark chestnut.".
