Oliva dealbata
Original description(s):
"Shell acuminately oblong, rather narrow, spire exserted, sharp at the apex, columella slightly curved, plaits oblique, distant, almost faded; ivory-white, marked beneath the suture with arrow-headed brown dots, base sparingly stained with brown.". Recent. Unknown locality.
Taxonomy:
This taxon neither is a junior primary homonym of Porphyria dealbata Röding, 1798, nor a junior secondary homonym because the latter is assignable to " Oliva" and not to Olivella. As Oliva dealbata Reeve, 1850, has page priority over O. monilifera Reeve, 1850, accepting the latter as the name to be used for this species (Sterba, 2004: 124) based on the supposed homonymy discussed above is erroneous.
