"Testa elongata, alba, utraque extremitate attenuata, basi emarginala, spira obtuse acuta, callo albo, subcarneo induta; apice nudo; suturis callo immersis; anfrac. ultimo suturali depressione notato, medio callo detecto, sublevigato, propè varicem transversè unistriato; varice obliquo, sulcido inaequi-partito; apertura spirani subcequans, ovato-oblonga, mediocris, intus albo-subcarneola; labro simplici propè basin obsolète unidenliculato; columella alba, arcuata, infernè extus dilatata et biplicata, medio stricta, supernè subdilatala, postea albo-carneola, juxta spiram longé lateque calloso-dilatata. Long. 31 1/2. — Lat. maj. 13 min. 11 mill. — Apert. 15 mill. longa; 11 mill. lata.". Recent. Lifu, Loyalty Islands.
Holotype probably in MHNB.
This species was described from Lifu, Loyalty Islands. In a second paper in the same volume of the Journal de Conchyliologie, Souverbie again described a specimen, from New Caledonia. The specimen figured in that second article (Pl. 11 fig. 3) is in the MNHN. As already stated by Kilburn & Bouchet (1988), it has no type status.
