SUMMARY
Distribution: Temperate Australasia realm. Southwest Australian Shelf province.to West Central Australian Shelf province. Hopetoun to Fremantle, Western Australia (Wilson, 1994)).
RV 5502a. Australia, Western Australia, N of Perth, Yanchep, night dive, depth 10-12 m, on sand. Scale bar is 1 cm.
It is often confused with Ancillaria lineata Kiener, 1841, which occurs in the same region. That species, however, has a pattern of irregularly spaced lines, rather than blotches, on the body whorl. Furthermore, its attains larger maximum dimensions.
