SUMMARY
A genus of small West-African species [Tropical Atlantic realm. Gulf of Guinea province]. All three species are known from Angola but two range further northward.
The type species is Oliva nana Lamarck, 1811.
Micana has traditionally been considered to be a subgenus or synonym of Olivancillaria Orbygny, 1841. However, as already stated by Teso & Pastorino (2011: 28), who commented on Oliva nana Lamarck, 1811, but illustrated an Oliva millepunctata Duclos, 1840, the genus-group taxon seems to be more accurately assigned to the Olivellinae. The presence of an operculum supports this view.
