SUMMARY
Distribution: Central Indo-Pacific realm. Sunda Shelf province (Malaysia, Vietnam). Kei Islands, Indonesia (Schepman, 1911).
RV 7048. Vietnam, Khánh Hòa, Nha Trang; depth 50-75 m. Scale bar is 1 cm.
The type material (NHMUK 1874.12.11.39) consists of two syntypes, the largest being the one figured by Hinds (1844: Pl. 2 fig 3b-c), the smaller syntype the one figured by Reeve (1864: Pl. 2 fig. 3a). The smaller syntype represents a distinct species and, with a high degree of certainty, does not originate from Malacca Strait.
