Tropical Southwestern Pacific province

PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

The Tropical Southwestern Pacific province of the Central Indo-Pacific realm covers the marine fauna of the following ecoregions: 146 (Tonga Islands), 147 (Fiji Islands), 148 (Vanuatu), 149 (New Caledonia), and  150 (Coral Sea). As a result of the many expeditions by French scientists, it is one of the best documented parts of the marine fauna of the world.

The New Caledonian Olivoidea were treated by Dautzenberg (1927), Leveque (1984, 1984, 1984, 1985), Prigent (1993, 1993). The Olivoidea of Vanuatu (New Hebrides) were treated by Solem (1959). The Ancillariidae of the province were treated by Kilburn & Bouchet, 1988, 1990, 1990) and by Bouchet & Kilburn (1991, 1991).
