Galeolella sidelia
Tursch & Greifeneder (2001: 463) stated: "This should be considered a nomen dubium. It could possibly be O. todosina Duclos, 1840, or O. faba Marrat, 1867, but the type specimen (so far unique) is worn beyond recognition and could be attributed to several species. The original description does not dispel these doubts.". The single syntype, which apprently is the one figured by Duclos, is illustrated below.
Syntype MNHN IM-2000-1288 of Oliva sidelia Duclos, 1840. New Guinea.
Hunon, Hoarau & Robin (2009) used the taxon for specimens from the Philippines, Seychelles, Mautritius, Solomon Islands and Indonesia. At the same time, similar specimens, from India andThailand, were figured as Oliva todosina Duclos, 1840.
This was a valid species for Sterba (2004).
