Olivella praefloralia
"Shell small, slender, elongated, the spire about half the length of the shell or a trifle longer, sharply pointed at the apex. Whorls 6 or 7, the first 2 to 3 belonging to a very small protoconch. Adult whorls are separated by very narrow, deeply chanelled sutures, which in perfect shells lie almost concealed under the sharp overhang edge of the whorl in front. Parietal callus extends about half-way across the penultimate whorl; it is thickest at the end of the aperture so that at this point, the chanelling of the suture appears to lie mainly in this callous growth. Parietal plications comprise a series, of small, cord-like folds which cover most of the inner lip; they number about 8. Inside, the pillar wall is slightly excavated. Outer lip simple, thin. Siphonal canal rather wide. Fasciolar band wide, with a narrow appressed band above. Color uniform in the fossils, no pattern showing. Height 7.4 mm., diameter 2.8 mm (holotype).". Pliocene.
