"Shell oblong, thin; spire short; outer lip thin, toothless; aperture large; axis imperforate. Operculum none. Foot very large.".

A genus of comparatively large species, resembling Ancilla, and confined to the Western Indo-Pacific realm.
The type species is Ancillaria mauritiana Sowerby, 1830 (see below).
