Oliva pica Lamarck, 1811

This is a nomen dubium. No type material seems to exist anymore and the original description does not lead to an accurate identification of the taxon. The type locality: "Nouvelle-Hollande" (Australia) also does not contribute to the recognition of the taxon. The binomen, however, has been used by several authors for the species now known as Oliva mascarena Tursch & Greifeneder, 1996.
